The Pró-Fono colored plastic spatulas with rough, perforated and colored surfaces are made of non-toxic polypropylene and have rough surfaces on both sides. They have the dimensions 13.2 cm x 1.5 cm.
The use of Pró-Fono colored plastic spatulas is similar to that of wooden spatulas, with the advantage of better stimulating lip proprioception due to their two rough surfaces.

Applications:
1. Assistance in stimulating correct lip posture by asking the patient to hold the spatula between the lips while performing other activities.
2. Assistance in intraoral evaluations for better observation of the different regions.
3. For tongue tapping (short and quick movements - "tapping") to improve tongue tone.
4. To work the mouth sphincter muscle: The spatula is placed perpendicular to one of the lip folds. The patient is asked to push out his lips firmly with his teeth clenched while the speech therapist counteracts this with the spatula.
5. To work the cheek muscle (right and left): The tip of the spatula is placed in the mouth along the cheek muscle line. The patient is asked to press with closed teeth against the force of the speech therapist (right and left).
6. To work the posterior fibers of the platysma muscle (right and left): The tip of the spatula is placed in the mouth below the cheek muscle line. The patient is asked to press with closed teeth against the force of the speech therapist (right and left).
7. To work the large zygomatic muscle (right and left): The tip of the spatula is placed in the mouth above the cheek muscle line. The patient is asked to press with closed teeth against the force of the speech therapist (right and left).
8. As a preparatory step to Lip Dumbbell No. 1 (code 7050) for patients who have difficulty starting with this device due to severe lip hypotonia.
